My son has an early February birthday and it’s always freezing here in MN. We decided that we would do a “WINTER OLYMPICS” theme this year.

We hung strings of flags (multiple countries) in front and back yards. Balloons led the way through the gate to the sledding hill in back. The kids had a great time! We also put together colored water bottles and they kids “painted” the snow. I was worried about sending them home with stains from food coloring, so I used the tablets the color the bath tub water. (These can be found at Creative KidStuff.) The kids also had bubbles and enjoyed watching them freeze in the air!

Since there were 48 guests we did cupcakes for everyone once inside. The cake for the birthday boy was a giant cupcake (Yes, those molds work great!) with the Olympic rings on it. If you want me to send you photos, please let me know!

It was great, the kids and parents had fun and it went off without a hitch!

PS – Since there were so many guests, we asked for no gifts. Instead, books were donated for the Children’s Hospital, which we are dropping off this week!
