I have a special love for VBS.. Not only is it part of my job to organize and run VBS at our local church, I really think it’s a fun week for my kiddos…  They play games, do crafts, enjoy fun snacks, and learn about God…  What a fun combination!  Check out your local churches for their VBS programs!  They are usually free or require a small fee and you can often times VBS hop to several different camps in your area!  They really are a ton of fun and what’s better than summer camp :).

This year we are going to the famous (at least that’s what we hear)Â Vail, Colorado 4th of July Parade… Â We thought these hats would be fun to wear to the parade or even if we happen to be “in” the parade (Young Life has a float this year). Â For all of my Minnesota friends, we used to make a tradition of going to Edina’s annual 4th of July parade, which is spectacular and highly recommended! Â I’m sure a town near you has a parade too and it really is a fun tradition to start with your kiddos! Â OH and how fashionable could you be with a hat like this???? Â Make one today!

Construction paper
Stickers, clip art etc… how ever you want to decorate your hats
Glue
*** Â I basically cut one inch strips in a large piece of construction paper… Â I let the kids go crazy and decorate to their hearts content. Â Very easy and very fun! Â Here are a couple pics from the Edina Parade….
